Pearl street has gone down and fat mamas for drinks , don't care for there food . The Butt hut in Vidalia has great bbq and burgers . Roux 61 has good seafood . The camp and Magnolia grill on the river are also good . Have not tried rolling river bistro . The corner bar serves a great steak , I believe it is on Wed . nights . Tigrlee is right on with Breauds ...

Pear st is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere.
Food is IMO still good, service is shotty.
Like they are always short a person or two.

Agree on Magnolia Grill. Fat Mama's - drinks only, food is lame. For breakfast, look for Nikki's Restaurant on the main drag through Vidalia. Good breakfast buffet, and can order off the menu. Whatever became of 'The King's Tavern?' If Slick Rick's is still open, you could get a great lunch there, but lunch only.

New owners are trying to turn into a specialty pizza and rum distillery last I heard.

ETA Pearl St. is still OK but nothing like in years past.

Add Cotton Alley to your list- I highly recommend it.

Pearl St. (Haven't been in a couple years though)
The Castle at Dunleith
Biscuits and Blues
Fat Mama's for margaritas
Went to Roux 61 a few months ago and was very disappointed. The service was very bad and the food wasn't much better. I've heard great things about it so maybe we went on a bad day.

Edit: Forgot about Breaud's. Went there a while back and was pleasantly surprised.

Roux 61 is solid and consistent - can be very busy though

Magnolia is good with great location

Try Lil Dagos across from the hospital on 61.We love it and havent been to Pearl St pasta since we found it about 2 yrs ago. They have great spaghetti and meatballs.the portions are huge and the price is right.Get the bottomless bread and sauce if you go.
Grab some frozen tamales at the Donut shop on the way home.Very good.

Roux 61 is good if you like fried seafood.
We've been to the Magnolia grill a few times and havent been impressed.

Grab a burger and half a dozen tamales in the parking lot of the Donut Shop. Or, consider going to The Carriage House for a nice dinner . Check the hours...broad menu, good food and atmosphere.
