My take at a Weekend Rewind: Georgetown, TX style

Me and my wife headed to her hometown of Georgetown, TX to celebrate her baby sister's high school graduation. We got the weekend started with some strong Margaritas
Our flight got delayed and there was a mixup at the rental car place, so we ended up arriving very late on Thursday. We had to grab some In-N-Out burgers to curb our appetite [
I got my burger animal style w/ normal fries and my wife did the opposite w/ a regular cheeseburger and animal style fries. Those burgers do not disappoint
We woke up early on Thursday and headed to Shipley donuts to grab some Kolaches. We got a half dozen of every flavor and they were pretty solid. The jalepeno was my favorite. I grabbed a regular glaze and strawberry glazed donut too while we were there. They weren't bad, but nothing special either
For lunch we headed to my wife's favorite restaurant in Georgetown: Dos Salsas.
Those guys know how to make a mean Marg
I got a burrito combo plate. One had ground beef with chili gravy sauce and the other shredded chicken with salsa verde. The wife had chicken flautas. The beef and chili burrito was the best thing.
It was time to get ready for the grad party. We went to go pick up some food for the family. I had a few Shiner's in order to get my mind right
We hooked up that dessert table like there was no tomorrow
I'm a sucker for cookies
My father-in-law has a special recipe for Margaritas involving like 5 types of alcohol. They are usually killer, but I think he made too many test batches. He messed this one up a bit
I gladly became the test dummy and went to work on correcting it before the party started. I added lots of agave and some water to mellow out the tartness and the overpowering alcohol taste. He looked at it and immediately knew someone had tweaked it. Busted.
The Margs kicked in when the party started, which could explain my next few pictures. The main event was BBQ from Rudy's. We had sausage, brisket, turkey, potatoes, creamed corn, and baked beans. The brisket and corn were the only things above average
Someone brought over some watermelon and made my day. It's my jam.
After a long night of Rob-a-ritas and shiner I awoke the next morning witj a belly dying to be fed. Everyone knows I'm a slut for breakfast tacos, so I used the leftover brisket and sausage along with bacon, avocado, pico de gallo, and cheese to get me ready for the big day.
The tortillas were made fresh at HEB. That was my first time there and the store is huge. Tons of options, I really liked it.
I grabbed another Shiner and headed to Round Rock around lunch. We went to Chuy's, and mother of God was it good.
The wife and I both grabbed a Mexican Martini (basically a Marg without sweet and sour and an olive in it). They were pretty good and came with a shaker to refill your glass
The chips and salsa came out and my wife made sure to order us some creamy jalapeño sauce as well. The salsa was very hot and I really enjoyed it.
We also got the Queso Compuesto (Chile con queso with seasoned ground sirloin, guacamole and pico de gallo.)
It killed as well.
For the main meal, I got a Chuychanga w/ chicken and boom boom sauce on top. That sauce was the kitty's titty's. Seriously. It's amazing. Cheesy, spicy, creamy, it's everything you want from your Tex-Mex food all in one sauce. I liked the consistency of the beans much better than at Dos Salsas as well. The food here was great and I was in a good mood heading into the graduation pregame.
We went back to Dos and began pounding Margs until it was time to head to the stadium. One of the older ladies ordered one of those obnoxious drinks with an upside down Corona in it and bitched out, so I chugged it on the way out the door. I felt like a world beater at the graduation.
We watched my sister in law from above as she finished her high school career #blessed [
Afterwards we celebrated w/ the ultimate dessert: The Cookie Log. It's a nestle tollhouse roll of dough baked just enough to get it warm and then doused w/ vanilla ice cream. Pure, diabetic, dairy heaven
We continued with the drinking well into the night
I made a late night run to whataburger to get everyone Bacon BOB's and honey butter chicken biscuits to absorb our libations. HBCB's continue to be the perfect late night snack
I woke up on our final morning and had some tea to rejuvenate myself
The wife and I headed to the airport and had shitty airport food
I ate a chocolate frosty before boarding the plane
Upon arrival back in Nola, my wife felt like we needed a vegetable after the weekend. She brought in this salad
I had some leftover smoked chicken wings. I mixed them with this Darth Vader mac n cheese for my final meal
Finished the weekend with some Ben & Jerry's and called it a night
Thus concluded our weekend in Jorgetown, TX
Keep on drinking and eating Amigos

Bourbon is usually my drink of choice, but I was mostly letting my wife pick her favorites since she was back home.

I need to go work out again after reading that

Haha. You would be shocked at how me and my wife look after seeing this. We weigh 250 lbs combined.

That queso was wicked good. We're going to explore Austin more the next time we pass through. BBQ, ramen, and tacos are on the list.

So this is the new trend here I guess. Taking pictures of everything you eat over the weekend even if it's a bunch of crap.

I think I'm gonna do one of these sometime
