Everytime I pass this place it is jam packed.

Is it really that good?

They milk being featured in some food magazine years ago, touting that their Cajun shrimp burger is the way to go. I've tried it and personally like the BBQ burger much better.

Thursday is wing night for 50 cents per wing. They're alright, but good luck getting in.

Mason's also has a very good happy hour.

Their burgers are very good -- I just get the normal bacon cheeseburger though. Wings are good. Brunch is hit or miss, but for the most part, it is also good.

The place isn't necessarily worth driving across town, but if you live out that way, Mason's is a good option.

I agree with this. End up out there a few times per year and it never really disappoints, but it's never mind-blowing either.

As would any and all family-owned business. And it was Food Network, not some random food magazine. No different than when I go out of town to a place that was on DD&D, and there are pictures everywhere and the episode aired like 6 years ago.

I've had it a few times and it is very good.

This, and it doesn't matter what time you go. My heathen girlfriend and myself thought going at 10:00 AM would be smart (since many would be in church), but we still caught a 30 minute wait.

However, the food was very good and going to Mason's for brunch is fun to do every once in a while.

Baton Rougeans think its a good place. And it is...for BR. However it would be considered pretty meh if it was in a real city.

I agree with this.
The hamburger is a solid choice for this area and the brunch has been good the times Ive gone. All in all, its a good place to eat, but not the best.

wing night is a deal
menu has a lot of options for everyone
Cajun shrimp burger is what they got credit for but there are a ton of things on menu better than that

It is nasty. That's why the champagne is unlimited.

My wife and I have tried to go there twice and both times...the service was so horrible that we ended up just walking out. One time before we saw an entre and one time before we saw our first drink. I won't go back.

Food is decent. They have about 50 different options for bloody Mary's. I think the base is just zing-zang.

I showed up at noon recently on Sunday as a group of 4 and it was packed as hell...obviously...but was still sitting around 35 minutes later inside somehow. Was surprised at how fast it was.

Give the place a chance. Walking out is rude and obnoxious. If you don't like the service or the food, talk to the manager, pay whatever isn't comped, and THEN talk shite and don't go back. When places are busy it takes a little longer to get drinks and food sometimes, if you can't understand that then you need to stop going to busy places

Good burgers (though overrated)

Decent brunch w/ good bloody Marys, but not worth the wait

We were comped for our drinks when our entres never came. We offered to pay.

The next time, there was nothing to pay as we never saw anyone. We told the hostess on the way out and you could tell she forgot to tell anyone.

No third chance. Too many other options for me to go through that again for a burger.
