Very true and fair.

For instance last week we had poboys at Marty J's on Perkins and loved it, that place makes Mason's look like Galatoire's.

I have to disagree with you there. Marty J's is pretty clean.

Sounds like The Chimes.

I think the food at Mason's is average. I wouldn't send anybody there not even for brunch. It's a fine neighborhood restaurant and I've been there a couple dozen times, but the bottomless champagne and "build your own" bloody mary put them on the map.

Which Chimes do you go to? That doesn't sound like Chimes at all.

This sums it up for me.

Their breakfast burrito last time I went was pretty bad. Driving across the city to sit in a loud and overcrowded place with meh food is not high on my list of things to do.

I think the people that go are almost programmed to go or find themselves there because they were invited by a group and didn't want to say no.

I go to Marty J's a lot and have never thought the place was nasty like Mason's is.

George's on G O'Neal might be the nastiest place of all. The stale grease smell that always exists inside, permeates your skin & clothing.

I think that's just how Kenny smells.

I'd say its better than just meh, but yeah when you factor in the crowd and the wait, I can't bring myself to ever go to that brunch. Then again, I'm not big on brunch all together. I'd say they have better food than Sammy's, another place all of BR will inexplicably wait 45+ minutes to eat at.

What's so great about their happy hour? Never been.

Good grief, do people even read the posts they comment on?

The point was Marty J's physical appearance is not as nice as Mason's, but MJ's is clean and well kept.

If I'm on that side of town during HH, Little Village HH is damn solid.

It is. Damn shame their food sucks. Their meat and cheese plate is embarassing for a "nicer" restaurant. It looks like they walked across the street to Albertsons and picked up the processed cheese squares and salumi on sale with rolled up sandwich cut slices of ham.

I'm not sure what happy hours you're going to, but I don't know many that have half off anything at the bar for 3 hours every weekday.
