Can't remember the last time I drank straight up plain cowmilk. Only time I get it is with cereal.

If you are a true southerner, you would use Bavarian style buttermilk.

I love good skim milk. I can drink several glasses at a time, usually have some with dinner if I am not drinking alcohol, and will drink it instead of water when I am hot and thirsty. However, even skim has more calories than I need on my current diet. I need to try almond milk.

I don't drink it as often as I used to, but I adore a tall glass of freezing cold whole milk.

I keep glasses in the freezer just for milk.

I serve milk in frozen glasses to adults at work too No idea if that's what we are "supposed" to do officially, but adults pretty much never order milk anyway. Kids get a lidded styrofoam cup.

For cereal and shakes. I rarely have a bona fide glass of milk. Usually just water.

Almond milk is easier for the brain and taste buds to accept if you try it in the a.m. with a Quest cinnamoroll flavored protein bar that has been slightly warmed in the microwave.

What is F&D Board's opinion on goat's milk?

My kids (2 years old) have drank it most of their short lives. It seems to be better on their stomach(s).

I've tasted it a few times and think its pretty disgusting. They love it (but then again they have never really had cow's milk before)

My opinion is if they can't stomach cows milk I would just buy almond milk...simply because it is everywhere.

I haven't had goat milk in ages but I don't remember it being bad.

Generally... No, it's not healthy stuff.

Exceptions...

Small amount of steamed skim in my espresso.
Whole milk in my wife's corn bread recipe.

I would put our consumption of milk at about a pint a month.

Good call. Only place on the Northshore that carries it is Walmart or Neighborhood Walmart.

Besides that, closest place we can find it is Whole Foods across the bridge in Metairie.

Shockingly, the Fresh Market here does not carry it.

closest thing to human milk minus the colostrum, used to get it regularly from an old country doc when I was younger. You can drink anything if its cold enough

This is why it really doesn't bother me that much when folks don't like something I eat, because I never could get into he whole buttermilk thing.

Tasted kind'a clabbered to me.

Have to agree with PBeard on the Smith Creamery. Have never had Feliciana's Best, so can't comment on that milk. But, I do love a big ice cold glass of milk. We cannot get Smith Creamery where I live, but I support Kleinpeter Milk because they helped Smith Creamery produce their product after the explosion. Thanks, Kleinpeter!

Heck yes. I love me some cold milk. 2%.

Good for your bones and teeth, plus it just tastes good. Until it spoils.

Get a big glass of that stuff in the middle of the night. Yum. The cold milk, not the spoiled stuff.

I drink milk. Love it.

I dont think it's useful to compare diets with other species. No other species drinks beer, semen, or kool-aid either.

Agree that restaurant milk is never cold enough. Milk is like watermelon--the colder the better. I use ice cubes when drinking it plain.
