What is your favorite? Any good online place to purchase online?
I got a bag from the jerky outlet this weekend and it was no better than the common shite you find in stores. This was extremely disappointing as its generally very good from there. I'm probably going to write them a letter and see if they can send a replacement bag. The pieces are large and greasy. I like the stuff you get there Bc generally it's very thin.

Or buy the Rouse's brand beef jerky at $19/lb

Hint: it's Bourgeois' beef jerky.

Bourgeois is money, one of the salesman that calls on me brings it to me all the time. I mean more along the line of the really thin cut really dry style.

I'm a beef jerky whore. Best jerky I've ever had was from this place down by Victoria TX. Can't remember the name of the place but it was right on 59 across from a gun range. The jerky is in meat cases and they sell it to you by the lb in butcher paper.

Woody's is the shite. They claim to be the beef jerky capital of the world. My favorite gas station I've ever been to hands down. It was the highlight of all my business trips I took between Houston and Dallas.

I recently visited a place called Climax Jerky in CO that was damn good. Guy had samples of all his jerky in little containers for you to try before purchasing. The salmon jerky was unreal and like mentioned before the Elk is money. Elk jerky is by far my favorite type of jerky. They have a website, which I plan to order some more elk and salmon from.

Have a recipe I want to try where you use a smoker. I've tried it before and it tasted fantastic.

Also, Bucee's beef jerky is pretty damn good. I still want that fully stainless steel pit they have at Prasek's.

Why does beef jerky sell for something like $30 a lb. on average? It is ridiculous. What else sells for that price?

I am talking about the stuff in the packages you get at the grocery store that is not very good - not necessarily the stuff that is made locally.
