Yeah that's what I feared. Sounds like the wife and I will just head to the bar and get drunk and eat some chips and salsa and leave. Lol

I'll eat from Leonard's, but I'm not eating from Jim's seafood. Growing up in LC, the only place I ate from on Broad St was Steamboat Bill's.

Curious how the staples of my youth are holding up

Wagon Wheel BBQ
Hacketts
Tony's Pizza

we already mentioned Casa and Cottons

Also pretty sure these aren't there anymore, but Peppers, Bonanza, western sizzlin, and peiking garden were in the rotation at all times

Ok, peeps... I don't go to Lake Charles much, but here are a few of the places yall mentioned above that Ive eaten at over there.

*Balls Fried Yard Bird... Best of the Best
*Cottons Burgers... on a level with Judice Inn in Lafayette
*Crab Palace... One of the better 'whole in the wall' seafood joints Ive eaten at.
*Darrell's... The "Special" is decent enough, but not really a po-boy. I call it a po-sandwich.
*Luna's (downtown) Drank too much to remember anything about it.
*Harlequin's Steak House... damn good meal!

That's about it.

Tony's pizza still has it going on. Wife and kids love it, but I'm burnt out on it. Place is always full.

Wagon wheel has been gone for years, haven't been to Hacketts in 20 years, and Tony's is still the same.

Peppers has been closed for years and there is a Wendy's where bonanza used to be... western sizzlin closed down at the same as bonanza.

I used to love the sicilian roast beef.(roast beef with olive mix) Their bread was almost like a cross between french bread and a biscuit.

Hacketts plate lunches are great, the place is always packed. Good boudin as well. . Famous foods on Hwy 14 has good BBQ and cracklins if you're in the area.

The Sloppy Taco

Had this Monday for lunch, place is awesome. I'd add Tia Juanita's for texmex too - boudin quesadilla is the bomb.

On a separate but still food related note, I had a fantastic meal at Calla a couple weekends ago. Crabmeat beignets, Gnocchi, Jerk Ribs, and the Smoked and Fried Chicken. It was all amazing.
