Kalurah Street Grill soft opening (old Chelsea's BR)

Went for the soft opening tonight, renovation looks very nice. Service was outstanding. Snapped a pic of the menu, but as you can see lighting was dim. So no pics of our food unfortunately. We had the duck Wellington and the oysters for apps, both were great. For entrees, the scallops and the hangar steak. Again, both were exceptional. Also had probably the best old fashion I've ever had in a bar/restaurant in BR by a large margin. Looking forward to trying some of their other offerings.

Not too many places serve a Hangar steak in Baton Rouge (this is my go to steak at Doris Metropolitan).
I might just pay them a visit in about two to three months.

Good to hear since one guy said this would be one of the places to close in 2017.

I'll need to hit this place . Nice menu and pricing seems good, too.

Kelley McCann is chef and part of owner of Kalurah and was the chef at Galatoire's.

If they can do the skin on snapper right that will be a great dish.
And now I know the name of that little street that I've been on a thousand times.

i wonder if they bought the place or had to rent it like Chelsea's was doing.
If it ends up failing, you can always make it a bar with music at least

Chelsea's wasn't making money off music or the bar on most nights. It was all the food.
ETA Nice review. I'm looking forward to trying this place out.

i cant wait to try it myself. Curious to see if the neighborhoods support this place and how everything turns out. Inside looks pretty nice from what I saw.
The only eye sore is the outside.. not so much the place itself but the surrounding areas on the side. I remember it being like a junk yard on one of the sides
