Staying at the Roosevelt next week.

Heard their pizzas were good.

Anything else that I need to try?

I went this past weekend for happy hour (3-6 all week) and felt like I was stealing from the place. Pizzas were 6.50 a piece and drinks were half off. We ended up getting deserts that were both great (apple cake and gelato). The pizzas were some of the best, if not the best, pizzas I have had in the US.

I find their pizzas very dry and very bready. Some of the toppings are overly salted as well.

saderade and I do not like the pizzas, but VOR will insult you if you talk poorly about a Besh restaurant, even the bad ones, like Domenica and Luke.

I usually get sick on the charcuterie and cheese. I can get pizza anywhere.

i went a few weeks ago for lunch. the "torn" pasta with oxtail and fried chicken livers was tops, as was the octopus carpaccio salad. the pizza was meh - a bit "doughy".

I love the pizza. Try the fried kale as a side.

I may have to give them another try. My pizza was tasted like it sat out 30 minutes and became soggy.

Gotta have the Italian sausage pizza but the charcuterie is pretty awesome. Everything is made in house. Go at happy hour and you'll spend less than if you were at shitty arse olive garden. Besh loves practically giving stuff away. Luke is the same way

During happy hour basically everything is half off. Hamburger was the only thing I wasn't blown away with. But all the stuff on the charcuterie menu is awesome and cheap

I thought the pizzas were mediocre, but I only tried it once and it could've just been an off day.

Everything else that I've had there has been really good.

their pizza is some of the worst I've ever had.

it's pretty much just dough. no lie. crispy and thin dough with little to no toppings, sauce or cheese.

Other than August I haven't heard the most flattering reviews about his restaurants

I have tried domenica and Luke. Thought both were excellent. They are just not your typical New Orleans restaurants.

Domenica is weird, as I've heard from people whose opinion on food I trust either say they thought it was wonderful or thought it was garbage (pizza wise). Luke is a "good" restaurant, August is a "great" restaurant. That's the difference imo.

Domenica's somewhere in between.

I'm not as big a fan of the pizzas as I am some of the other stuff. I wouldn't categorize them as awful, though.

It's the one thing I never get. I periodically try to make it during happy hour and rarely do, and even when I do, I end up getting other stuff.

In my experience with Besh's restaurants with the exception of August, he absolutely nails some dishes, but then will have several items on the menu that are very average. I'm a creature of habbit and am usually drawn back to what I know is good.
