I've come to a sad realization: this is the best pulled pork in Baton Rouge.

frickin' Costco.

Seriously...other than doing it yourself, this is the best in Baton Rouge other than MAYBE that place on Government (Sweets? Brother's? Smoking Aces? whatever the frick it's called)

Why can't there be a good BBQ joint here?

And IMHO, that's a poor substitute... I bought some at Costco awhile back and ended up feeding it to the dog. What I got was too mushy and unappetizing.

I think Glass likes a Kirkland soup.
Not sure of the kind.

Most really good bbq places in south texas only make so much quantity and then are out for rest of day. Had place run out of turkey and baby backs within hour of opening on really busy friday.

Think BR would be way too fickle to accept that practice, even if product was very good

Nah. If it was a chain and you opened up three of them, the people in this city would start hitting them up at 3 am to find the shortest line and then later fight to the death to get the last piece of brisket when they run out after an hour of being open.

Best BBQ in BR is at Whole Foods. Yes, I'm being serious.

I make some pretty good pulled pork. Too bad Costco is better than yours.

Have you tried it? It is really good. I know it does not say much about BR's BBQ scene when Whole Foods is #1, but they are legit.

Unless they have a smoker out back in the parking lot, I'm not going to buy it. If someone gave me some I'd try it, but damn,

The chicken tortilla. It is really good for a pre-packaged product.

Yes, they have their own smoker and pit. They make it fresh each day.

Definitely, and that's not an insult. The brisket I had at WF was really good and reminded me of hill country places.

There's City Pork too..but I only had them once. OP should try their pull pork.
