I haven't tried Primitivo yet, but saw a few mention it in a thread the other day. Plus they have that other place Purloo in the area and some more places coming soon. Is this area in Central City the next hot spot?

What are your opinions on the places there now?\

What to get at Primitivo?

Ribeye for two.

The Jazz Market just opened up a few months ago too.

Primitivo is my current favorite restaurant.

Parking can be hard along the OC Haley stretch.

It's following the same model as far as incentives and such to attract businesses I believe

It is definitely trying to be the next Freret. I like it. Primitivo is a very good restaurant. I like Casa Borrega.

I do have to say though...I feel far more unsafe there than I ever felt in the resurgence of Freret.

Reconcile has always had a decent cheap lunch.

Primitivo is ridiculously good. The brisket sandwich at lunch is hands-down the best meat-heavy lunch sandwich in town.

I honestly wasn't that impressed with Primitivo. It had that raucous "it" restaurant vibe, but the food was just very solid. Nothing crazy though. I'd go as far as saying it was overpriced for the quality. The atmosphere annoyed me more than anything.

Duck wings for appetizer...my date crowed about them, but I didn't see the appeal. BWWs is just as good or better. So, guessing it was just pretension.

Had pork cheek & dumplings...pretty good. No complaints, but I guess was expecting to be blown away because of the hype.

Gal had the ribeye. Again...good and cooked perfectly, but as long as you have good meat and it's done correctly, there's no real showstopper here.

Biscuits were damned good, though. I'll give em that. Drinks were strong and well done.

Overall...8/10? Overhyped, overpriced, but still pretty good overall. No need to go back with so many other places to try, but I certainly would if someone else was paying.

What's up with Hot Boy Ronald and his IG. Does he post a pic of all the plates he serves during the day?

Shrug. No worries. Call it like I see it. There was nothing at all special about em.

When I was getting my initial security clearance, I had to explain how I blew a $250k inheritance by age 26 without going the coke & hookers route. Turns out I had spent $60k on dining out. Wish I hadn't (obviously) but I'm no noob at this.

I need to make my way down there. The food at Primitivo looks solid.

I noticed no one mentioned Purloo a second time in this thread. That seems right to me. Place was meh the two times I've been.

Still haven't tried Primitivo, but the menu doesn't intrigue me.
