As someone who hasnt always enjoyed ipas very much I can recommend hopitoulas and sn torpedo. Im learning and exploring ipas also and finding that my initial experiences with jockamo and ruination were misleading. I thought all of them were super hoppy, but there are significant differences between beers.

Where can you get heady topper? Anywhere in the south or only the northeast?

Most of it is sold at the brewery. I've heard of it hitting a few cities, most likely due to store owners "bootlegging" it.

NOLA Hopitoulas

I had this on tap at a local NOLA bar. Don't know how often they change out taps, but the NOLA Hop was weak. It seemed light and skunky for an IPA. I guess I should give it another shot? This board seems to love it, any negative reviews? Almost resembled a Heiniken. Thoughts?

They're supposed to start supplying it regularly to Boston this year.

I sure hope it eventually makes its way down here. For those who have been able to try it, would you say it was the best beer you've ever tasted?

Try Squatter's hop rising, double IPA. It doesn't get much talk here, but last year i was drinking a lot of this. It's hoppy, but has a nice malt balance.

Don't buy old IPAs that have been sitting on the shelf for months collecting dust.

I can't stress this enough. IPA's are meant to be enjoyed fresh. Old bottles where the hops have faded are frankly not very good. So check the drink by date or bottled on date to make sure it is still fresh. Rule of thumb is 3 months.

Never gonna happen. It'll never make it out of new england. Demand is too high.

I haven't had many IPAs but this is a good starter IMO

Stone was too bitter for my taste.
