What do you suggest? I don't really have a kitchen that makes cooking realistic (I have about a foot of counterspace in my tinybass apartment). but Maybe once a week. I mainly scavenge but I'm all for healthy scavenging but what do you suggest. I've been making spinach salads recently but I also want to find healthy protein sources.

Pasta and beans were my college go to meal when I wanted something cheap, healthy and easy to make. Use shell macaroni or any kind you like and get a can of Canellini beans. Rinse the beans in a colander and combine em with your boiled pasta. Add a little salt and pepper and Parmesan cheese. The beans are a good protein source and the pasta will hold you up well. You can experiment from there and make a Fagioli, a little more complex Italian bean and pasta dish.

Completely cut sugar and limit carbs to under 20-25 grams.

Eat lots of a fat and a decent amount of protein.

I'd suggest googling "1 pot dinners" Basically you take a protein source, cut some veggies, cover in some olive oil and throw it onto a cookie sheet in the oven. That is about as simple as it can get.

Most important thing is watching your carb intake. That, and just trying to eat smaller portions. After you finish a meal, try drinking a big glass of water if you're still hungry. Flame away if you will, but I lost 50 lbs by doing this with no exercise.

And the dairy bit. Non-fat Icelandic yogurt is a go-to.

Pasta isn't bad for you. If you don't eat it at 10:00 at night. Or eat whole grain pasta, if you want.. but the OP didn't ask about losing weight, he said healthy. Now, if you want to be Slenderina.. but that's you.

Don't know what your goal is, but weight loss is calories in, calories out. Even if you choose to restrict things like carbs, it only works if you are consuming less calories than you put out.

Endless ideas for both cooking and non-cooking here:

The time you consume food has zero effect on weight loss. Eating at night is not bad.

Not a bad option, though usually not all that nutritionally different than regular pasta. The key with pasta is actually eating the serving size (2oz, measured on a scale raw), which most people would find is a joke. And even then, a serving size is around 200 calories. I eat pasta, but I don't go above the serving size and I bulk it up with lots of low calorie fillers like vegetables.

Macro ratio of 40% protein/40% fat/30% carbs. Carbs you do eat should primarily come whole sources like tubers, legumes, fruits, and even some whole grain breads are ok (but make sure there's no added sugar or sweeteners!)

No but you would be much off replacing it and other starches with fresh greens and vegetables.
