For BBQ, Martin's in Nolensville is the go to. They are one of the few places in Nashville that do whole hog. Second the Slick Pig in Murfreesboro. It's outside of Nashville but the smoked wings are dynamite. Definitely try some hot chicken - Hattie B's, Princes or Pepper Fire. If you're in town for the 4th, there is a hot chicken festival in East Nashville. If you want pizza, 5 Points in East Nashville is killer. Also, I hate to mention any chains but Jim N Nicks is has great bbq and awesome coconut cream pie!

1.The Gambling Stick if you want something easy and quick (not a brick and mortar type place, but they do have a tent and some picnic tables to eat at)

2. Peg Leg Porker
