Harbor Seafood or Kenner Seafood will have an edible gumbo. Drawing a blank on the chili, but Don Jose has legit charro beans.

Chef Ron's Gumbo Shop

It's on North Causeway right off the Interstate in Metairie. Not in Kenner but close.

Chili? I think Guilory's in Metaire has a chili that was good. It's near Causeway though. Seriously never really come across chili. I would like to know. It's huge in the midwest.

Gumbo I would go to Kenner Seafood or Harbor Seafood,

I work down the street and never tried it. Others in my office gave it a thumbs down and said it was expensive. Might need to see for myself.

I've been wanting to stop by there and try their crab cakes. I heard it was pretty good.

I dont remember if it was expensive

But i had watched one of his "how to" videos on making a gumbo either on facebook or youtube, and he follows a pretty traditional method. That prompted me to try it and it was actually pretty good gumbo imo

99% of restaurants around here use pre-made chili that they buy from their supplier.
