Are there any local options here in BR? I'd rather not use the store brands. Has anyone used Tramonte's or Chris's Specialty Meats? Any other good local references would be good. Thanks

Bergeron's in Lobdell. Stuff in Laplace isn't great. At least at Jacob's it isn't.

Bergeron's is good......LapPlace is the Andouille capital of the state/world.

Baily's/Jacobs/Wayne Jacobs are all excellent probably the best....to say Jacob's isn't is absurd, IMO. Just this past weekend I used all three in a gumbo competition & won first place.

Seriously, where do you go BugAC if LaPlace andouille isn't up to par?

I've used Benoit's country meat block for 30 years and he's never disappointed.

10 mins from wilkinson bridge in addis.

I regularly use Tramonte's. It is some of my favorite. They call it hardwood smoked Andouille. I also use their regular smoked sausage. I highly recommend all of their smoked products.

Picked up some andouille from Jacob's in Laplace this past weekend and it was really good.

Of the LaPlace andouille...which is the spiciest? I always use half jacobs (for smoke) and half best stop (for spice) when making gumbo etc. I'd like to not have to keep going to Scott.

I don't think any of the Laplace andouille is especially spicy. Maybe you could use some hot sausage for part of the andouille?

Bergeron's. I've had Jacob's and it was a little bland for my tasting. I haven't been to bailey's or Wayne jacob's.

Tramonte's

I bought Tramonte's andouille for the first time this weekend.

Looking forward to the next gumbo.

Of the Laplace andouille purveyors, I like Wayne Jacobs best. It is smokier, a bit more coarsely ground; the sausage itself is drier & not as soft as Baileys/Jacobs.
