He's nothing more than a stalking troll, Martini. Laughable if not so pitiful.

I'm likely overreacting. It was just frustrating, especially because no one was there. At a "bistro", brunch is not supposed to take 3 hours. I was thinking they were rejecting us because we were the youngest people there by at least 40 years. But likely not.

I compared it to brunch places like Commanders or Court of Two Sisters. If you aren't there within 10 minutes of your reservation, your reservation is cancelled. I think I held Galatoire's to too high of a standard. I'll never do that again.

I don't hate on reservations. But when you have 48 tables available at 11:10AM, I should be seated.

NOLA Galatoire's doesn't take reservations at all.....Least wise they didn't used to....everyone had to wait in line.

No telling what was really going on and I have definitely felt like that at points when I was younger, but I wouldn't write them off for this.

Give them a chance to settle in, become more efficient, and better trained for these situations.

Galatoire's takes reservations to dine upstairs, but not down unless you know someone, of course, but dining downstairs is part of the package for me.

I'll answer like brgethenet, yeah.

Come with me to a Friday lunch and your opinion of Galatoires is forever awesome. It isn't close to the best food in the city, but it just might be the best experience in the city.

yeah. Wife asked if I made dinner reservations. I told her we would play it by ear.

I'm going to see if I can pull a zealot at Galatoires.

Ha! That won't happen.

Fridays are busy. Fridays during Lent are really busy. Go early so you can get a table downstairs. If you're going to eat there on a Friday, that's where you want to be. You could make a reservation for upstairs as a backup, but they're strange about that. I know folks who have done that and they made them keep that reservation even though there were tables available downstairs. I know others who have done it and asked for a downstairs table and got it even though they had the reservation and Galatoire's knew it. Strange.
