I'm kind of shocked at the praise that article gives to that chicken. It's average, run-of-the-mill fried chicken. It's also way too salty and usually held for hours under heat lamps.
The only redeeming items are the boudin balls. Correction: some places also have meat pies.

The quality depends on the location, for me. Sterlington...average. Bastrop...awesomeness. The stores are 7 miles apart. Quality depends on who is running the kitchen.

Yes on starring next to Popeyes and by the by, the kk on grand isle is the finest fried chicken in the chain.

I don't like doing business with Brother's. Krispy Krunchy locations are so much better. Like J-Bob's and Guillory's in Metry.

I miss my Gas Station Chicken from back when I worked for a living.
We went up into the Delta a month or two ago and stopped for gas in Greenwood, MS. Found some righteous fried chicken at the gas station on highway 82 there, so my faith in the purchase of fried chicken from Gas Stations was upheld.

No doubt about it all KK joints aint the same by far. Some have greasy or old grease or over salted and the prices vARY TOO. The one by da house is way above average. Big juicy pieces and folks know it so the chicken dont stand a chance of sitting around I call ahead and they always fry it fresh for me. Their po-boys are 4.99 and very good too.
