I have been so hungry and buzzed on the parade route that I would have voted them #1 a few times while eating it.

They never did reopen huh? Used to love the all you can eat chicken and red beans.

Emeril's has some slamming fried chicken also.

i'll admit that the union chicken is pretty fiyah, but it wouldn't be in my top 5. agree to disagree

anthony bourdain never praised mothers or acme unless you can provid a link? he is really the only food critic that matters to me. travel channel did visit acme for man vs food but I can't think of any other time that. besides, i like eating at mothers a lot and I'm a nola local. they have some of the best side dishes in the city imo.

Best fried chicken since Willie Mae’s? Penang! Fried chicken, mutton curry, fish roe, cuttlefish, okra, rice and extra “gravy”

-Anthony Bourdain LINK

the only fried chicken he had better than willie maes was in china.

Was just saying its really good. Fried chicken is one of the foods where I cant single out "the best". Its just fried chicken. Not much effort or culinary expertise goes into it.

Andrew Z went to Mothers along with Adam Richland I think. Place is overpriced, overrated, and always packed. Ill pass

I'm a Willie Maes fan and it's good but I've had a bunch others that are better.

Now what Willie Maes has that is mostly overlooked is a top five or better red beans and rice.
