You shouldn’t have to wait like that but the food will still blow your mind. Luckily I had a friend that waited in line Saturday AM of LSU Texas game, I took an Uber over there to meet him and waited the rest of the time. Brisket was unreal, my main regret is that I didn’t order a beef rib

If you order a minimum of 5 lbs, you can preorder your food. You drive up, they bring it out to you. No lines and you get the best bbq possible. It’s great if you have a group.

They had lowered the preorder minimum to 3 lbs during covid which was awesome. I ate there 3 times with no waiting.

Have you tried Moreno or Whitfield’s in Austin? My house is basically in the middle of the two but I haven’t tried either yet.

Longest I’ve ever waited at Franklin’s was 1.5 hrs.

Brisket is the real deal. I also think their pork spare ribs are insanely good

I haven’t. Our last trip through Austin a couple weeks ago was on a Monday/Tuesday so not much was open.

I do agree with an above poster about Franklin’s spare ribs. They were probably the surprise of the tray to me.

Agreed as well! The pork ribs are fantastic.

They were sold out last time I ordered from Franklins and I tried the pulled pork, which wasn’t nearly as good.

Drinking beer and eating breakfast tacos while hanging out with your friends warrants shooting you in the head?

Yea you have fun in life

There’s a lot better shite to do in Austin than wait all morning/afternoon for BBQ

One of the benefits of Covid was making Franklin much easier to get food from

In my opinion, no restaurant is worth a 5 hour wait unless I'm 6 hours from starving to death.

I’ve waited longer at back yard barbecues and crawfish boils. If you’re with good company and having a great time, who gives a shite?

We did not have to wait last Friday night because it was a private event. I asked if pics were allowed and our guide was fine with it. The meat was fantastic. Didn't like the pinto beans. Here's a pit pic,

Their pinto beans are good. I've honestly never been blown away by pinto beans but I love them with bbq.

What meats did they have for you?
