I was born in AL, lived in MS and FL, and I currently live in TN. Finger sandwiches are at parties in all of these states, and I imagine they are at parties in all 50 states.

A very good one is.

Roast 8 red bell peppers, peel and chop a bit, cook 2 lbs bacon. Add both to blender (dry the peppers) and add a dollop of mayonnaise, salt and a lot of black pepper and blend well.

Spread on sandwich bread and cut crusts off. I made a batch yesterday and it is in icebox to make for Thursday.

I could live off a finger sandwiches. If I go to a wedding and the reception has finger sandwiches, I'm a happy dude.

Calvin's is good, but Murray's in St. Amant is even better. I meant to stop there and grab a pint last weekend when I went to vote, bu I forgot

I love them. Made 1000s of them working for my aunt's catering company in college.

Another little tidbit of history from the Huey Long finger sandwich story is cameras were never allowed in any of his dining rooms.

This was for obvious reasons, but it's almost impossible to find any pictures of Long ploughing through a tray as he was known to do, and from other people's plates.

Thanks, Ninja. You're doing a great job with your boys as well.

Finger sandwiches are an essential part of the culture that I continue to impart on my boys even if we remain in Atlanta. ESPECIALLY if we remain in Atlanta.

Any time I make them, I have to make at minimum an extra 20 for the boys.

Maybe it's all about semantics and they are just called sandwich trays or party platters if you're ordering from catering?

Thought about that. I've been asking people who have been looking for them for years. No bueno.
