Starts at 7PM on Food Network. Its an hour long special on chocolate for Vday called "Turn On The Dark".

Just wanted to make sure my fellow Alton Brown nerds were aware.

I don't know if there is a large market for syndication of this show, but I'll always watch it whenever it's on...one of the best cooking shows of all time.

Alton had cancelled the show last year but is bringing it back for this special. Its supposed to be the last one ever.

And I agree XT, one of the beat cooking shows of all time.

So indeed if this is the end, it means the series started with steak and ended with chocolate.

Well played, Mr. Brown.

My favorite cooking show. I have learned an incredible amount from Alton Brown. He explains the science of things in an easy to understand way and a lot of his stuff uses readily available ingredients and equipment. I want to buy that man a beer some day. Wish I had cable to watch it, but luckily every episode is available on youtube.

Here's to you, Alton Brown.

I will watch the show from time to time, but I haven't been too impressed with his recipes, overall. I did like his choc chip cookies recipe, though.

It's not about recipes. That was never the point. It's about food science and learning things to apply across the board. Not how to make tuna salad like Alton Brown.

Best cooking show in the last decade.

Certainly the science aspect set his show apart from other shows, but recipes definitely played a part - sort of a two-for deal.

Agree with the other guy, never even occurred to me to ever look for an Alton Brown recipe. Although that's not my cooking style in general, I rarely ever use recipes (certainly due in part to watching that show). Watched the show more times than I can count, although to be honest I thought they stopped making new ones like 5 years ago, so I'm out of the loop.

I hear you. I don't bake, which is the only area of cooking that needs precise measurements. I can certainly see how many of the recipes would leave much to be desired. And they were a big part of the show...I just watched for the big picture

Good Eats is number two of cooking shows. Just behind America's Test Kitchen on PBS.

I can call them a tie. Good Eats, even with some of the over the top episodes, was far more entertaining. But Test Kitchen is great. I've learned how to do many things better from Test Kitchen. Poached eggs and fried chicken included

I will break the tie:

#1- America's Test Kitchen
#2- Good Eats

Good Eats became my favorite TV Show in 2005, moving past the Robert Stack hosted "Unsolved Mysteries" for the late 80's. I saw my first ATK show last year and I was hooked!

It quickly moved past "Good Eats"...and I would have lost a bet that that would have never happened. ATK recipes are awesome (so are Good Eats)...but I prefer the blandness over the silliness of Good Eats!

Still a sad day...that such a great show has run its course.

I'm really bummed out. The last time i was sad a show ended was Sinfeild(however u spell it)or . I learned soo much from him. How many episodes did Good Eats make? I remember a behind the scenes show after 100th or 200th episode. Alton Brown is the shite and will forever appreciate all the simple techniques I take for granted that I learned from that show.

What was their take on fried chicken? Brine? Deep or shallow fried?

I'm sad to see this happening too. Although it's kind of obvious that Food Network was moving away from this type of show anyways. I think Alton had said he's ready to move on and do other things as well.

I'll be happy when I get the Cooking Channel so I can get my Good Eats fix. Currently it just comes on once a day in the morning during the week and I keep forgetting to set the DVR.
