That fish appears to be a maven. You'd better release it...

I've never had an IPL.

For those that have, what is the major difference between an IPL and IPA?

Founders Dissenter is a good one, I think Surly does a good one as well, Fathom maybe?

Tend to be a little more crisp and less malty, lots of dry hopping I'd assume and tend to be lower abv, not like double IPAs.

I've had varying experiences...

The one I had at Ballast Point(Fathom) was better than Sculpin. The lager aspect of it was so clean that there was nothing to get in the way of the hops. Very interesting.

The IPL that was in the beer camp was good but not great. Founder's IPL was like 9% and seemed that way.

Ballast Point makes Fathom, and it's really good.

Jack's Abby makes some nice IPLs. Less malty, more crisp and clean on the finish.

DAMMIT! I came in the beer thread specifically to avoid food since I'm starving and haven't eaten yet.

But shiiiiiiiiiiit that looks good.

Not jealous of the food, beer, bourbon, or fish. Just wish I was down there instead of at work.
