Lazy Magnolia? Never been actually.

I definitely want to hit up them and Crooked Letter sometimes soon though.

Anyone else had the Lazy Magnolia Me and the Dev Ale, American Strong Ale?

I had it last night. I didn't know what it was. Good malt flavor, the citra hops really shine. I thought it could have used more bittering hops, but then realized it was not an IPA, but a strong ale. They had some at Calandro's.

I've only had the oak aged cask version last month, so I'm curious to try the regular version.

FBD:Abita French Connection

Not sure what they were going for here, but it tastes like a saison with a prominent Belgian yeast 'bubble gum' flavor.

Happy Friday, Gents and Lady. FBD. Not the best beer I've had from Achorage/Mikkeller. There is typical funk in the nose, but there's a sort of astringent/bitter funk in the taste that is detrimental to the beer. Hoping it smooths as it warms.

I love la Fin. It has been in my rotation since the mid-90s. I bought another 4pack today.

I think this and Maudite are the only beers I drank way back that are still in my rotation. They have survived the incredible increase in availability of great beers and my conversion to mavenliness. Unibroue is solid.

Drinking the same thing now... I found the same bitter/astringent funk off putting.

TBD: Boulevard Love Child #3

Love this beer nice fruity aroma with a dry funky finish. This is supposed to be bourbon barrel aged, but I only pick up a few vanillin hints in the finish.

I had never heard of Westbrook until January of this year when I started seeing their stuff in AL. Such a good lineup of brews. They top my list of new brewery discoveries this year.

I have still not "discovered" Westbrook. Would like to try them. I firmly believe that I have not yet encountered my best discovery of the year.

I just picked up a Block 15 "Sticky Hands" DIPA that was bottled on 9/5. Will be my FBD today (since it is a 750 ml, my only). This will be my first Block 15 beer. Will find out if it can compete with Pliny/Double Jack.

I am also going to a beer tasting on Monday for the Ale Apothecary brewery, out of Bend, OR. The brewer there will be in Portland and he has some sick things going on. He is brewing a beer in a 200 year old Spruce tree that he hollowed out and layered with Spruce branches to act as a natural filter. Apparently, it's amazing...

I am still looking for trading partners, BTW. Have expressed a couple of times that I'm interested, but haven't found any takers. Would like to get my hands on some Westbrook.
