Pull one off and see how papery and full of yellow pollen like lupulin.

Pulled one couple days ago and had quite a bit of lupulin in it. Seemed like it was ready, but wanted to make sure before I harvested. How do you dry them? I was gonna put them in brown paper bags or try and find some window screens.

FBD- dales pictured with last nights bottles. I had a few friends from Houston stop by last night after the Wisespread Panic show so I opened these. They were pretty much too high to drink so I got to polish em off myself mostly.

And my cascade plant

.is it too early to harvest? My chinook and cascade are producing quite a few cones and from what I've researched, they are showing signs of being ready for harvest. Any input would be great

One of my cascade bines produced early too. If the hop cone is feathery and the lupins fall out easily then harvest them. On any given bine, some hop cones will be ready to harvest and others will need more time on the bine......More Time on the Bine.....I like the sound of that.....I feel a song coming on.

Hmmmm....I may take you up on that. Speaking of which, you still in Prairieville?

Lupulin wasn't falling out easily when I last checked. Will continue to check each day. And if you write a song, you better share that shite on here. I got a nice set of bongos that I could lay down some background noise if you need. Thanks for the advice on the hops, sir

fresh hop ipa is the only correct answer and if you think you have too many hops to do that then make your beer hoppier

I've dried them in a very low oven on cookie sheets and I've used a food dehydrator.

Squish them up in your hands they should be pretty freaking dry. It's easy to pull your first batch too early.

So are you saying no drying??

Don't have a food dehydrator and didn't think about the oven method. May try a variety and see what yields the best results.
