People who live in FL shouldn't be arguing over how to season gumbo. They were probably both wrong.

ETA: On a related note, I had some Piccadilly Seafood Gumbo today that was pretty bad. Shrimp, some kind of yankee fish, tomatoes and the absence of a legitimate roux all added up to disappointment. On another note, Mrs. Rat's Crawfish Etouffee was decent. And of course there was Carrot Souffle.

OMG, speaking of gumbo, I bought some for lunch from Adrien's grocery the other day. It tasted really good until I found a big lump of what looked like poo in it! Dare I post a picture?

Yes, the undissolved roux thing was my conclusion. But I couldn't finish the gumbo.

After a while I got the courage to smell it and poke it open. Pretty sure it was roux. Hard to get past, however.
