Ommegang

They found a niche and they do it very well. Their regular line-up is far better than St. Arnold and Nola, and that's not taking anything away from St. Arnolds and Nola. Ommegang's seasonal and specialty brews are fantastic.

I can't really argue with that. Like I said, I could easily vote for any of the 3 and be perfectly content.

What, didnt you vote nola earlier?

Flopper.

Probably so. Was some homerism going on with that vote. I like them A LOT but based on this past year I picked St. Arnold over NOLA I think NOLA will win this battle for me pretty soon when they can start getting more products out and keep things going the way they are.

Also if they make Pour me somethin mistah again....

Tough decision.

I get the homer stuff but c'mon guys. Nola isn't in the same league as ommegang or any of the top tier here.

St. Arnold.... again because Pumpkinator and Endeavor are two of my favorite beers.

I really like Ommegang, but I find myself not buying it all that much due to the price.

St Arnold
Tough call because Ommegang has a great lineup. Endeavor is my go to DIPA because of accessibility
and Pumpkinator is a favorite. Again tough call. We don't have much to choose from NOLA over here.

So Saint Arnold is top heavy with a lot of other mediocre beers, and NOLA is more consistent but with no real beers that make you go WOW!

Perfect description. If St. Arnold didn't have Endeavour, Pumkinator, or the BB/Divine Rserve series it would be a very medicore brewery. NOLA has it beat in the regular lineup of beers, I just wish they would come out with a seasonal that is highly sought after.

With that said...I drink NOLA more, so NOLA.

In fairness to St. Arnold you could do this to a lot of other big name breweries. There a lot of good breweries out there that would seem mediocre if you removed the top 4 beers from their lineup.

As far as the rest of their lineup.. It isn't spectacular, but Lawnmower, Elissa, Oktoberfest, and Weedwacker are well made consistent beers.

Pour me something mista, mechahopzilla, irish channel stout, flambeau red are/were all highly sought after.

Agreed. I think everyone needs to take off the fleur-de-lis glasses.

meh, your opinion is cloudy, you think elisse is as good as hopitoulas.

i mustve missed the post of what the voting criteria was, i thought we could vote for whoever we liked best?

plus i drink probably 10 times as much nola brews as ommegang.

Fairly hard to come by.

I'd buy one or two, they're great.

If you use that logic to rate breweries, then you would be saying NOLA > Hill Farmstead from your avatar.

Not trying to be a dick, but you get my point I think. NOLA makes solid american beers that are easy to find and dont cost a lot. I've had a few bad ones like sour draft, half-full cans, etc. I prefer NOLA over many other breweries, but someone like Ommegang always delivers really high quality stuff, for me anyway.

i agree 100%.

but when it comes down to it, i like ipas, stouts, saisons, browns, porters and red ales FAR more than belgian beers. belgian style beers probably make up less than 5% of my total beer consumption.

which is why i choose nola (st arnolds wasnt even an option for me).

as far as hill farmstead goes, best beer i ever drank in my life and they were ipas and a porter and a saison.
