The wife and I will be in town for a weekend in early September. Will we have a problem dropping into these places and finding table/bar seats on a Saturday (11am-6pm) for cocktails and small plates/apps? Perhaps Peche for an early lunch snack and Domenica for a happy hour pizza and such.

I always recommend getting reservations and both places.

Domenica gets pretty crowded during happy hour at the bar because they have great deals, but you shouldn't have a huge problem getting in.

Peche is always pretty crowded, especially on a saturday. At an "off time", you might be ok at the bar or raw bar, but its still a crapshoot. They are always busy.

I'm in town a couple weekends a month, and typically end up at Peche on Saturdays for lunch....never have a problem just walking in and getting a table.

But, if you wanted to be certain, just make a reservation on Opentable. Though it seems like they save those shitty small tables beneath the massive framed redfish for Opentable reservations.

Should be easy enough to get a reservation at either still.

Have been to both without, Saturday will be a little harder though.

Lunch for Peche you should have no problem and I've never had a problem getting a table at Domenica.

The bar at Domenica only has like 9 seats, so I would definitely get reservation there. Peche has 2 bars, and lots of tables, so if you have to wing one I would go with that one

One awesome aspect about Peche is that they don't close during the afternoons. Use this to your advantage and go mid afternoon, when I've never had any problems with crowds. I'm not sure about Saturdays, but if you go between 2-5 you'll be just one of a handful of tables.

went to Peche on Saturday around 1/1:30, did not have reservation and was seated immediately (2 peeps). The tuna and drum raw bar specials were on time. The steak tartare appetizer with oyster/clam sauce is great...polish off with a few Ancient Mariners and you are good to go.

I think all the Link restaurants are open straight through from lunch to dinner.
