No one should drink it. The reason for chicory is gone. It's an inferior product. Somewhat like IPAs, which shouldn't exist anymore either.

Chicory isn't great for day to day use but it is pretty solid with sweets. It has its place.
Southern cooking would basically just be fried chicken if we couldn't use inferior products.

I really can't tell if you're trolling or not.

In looking at the responses, I was trying to see if most of the yeses are from the New Orleans area. I don't know people in Lafayette who regularly drink coffee with chicory. I try to tell that to visitors here, who wonder why they aren't being served coffee with chicory in local restaurants. I tell them that it's more of a New Orleans thing.

It's definitely a New Orleans thing. You like what you grow up with.
I also genetically can't taste bitter, which is probably why I only like chicory.

I am talking about the filler aspect of it. The people who like it only do so because they got used to it. It's not a good thing to add to coffee.

Some K-Cups of it showed up at the office so I gave it a try. I thought it pretty good. Nothing compared to a cup at Café Du Monde, but a very flavorful cup nonetheless. I think I prefer the Community Café Special though.

I hate this shite with a passion. It doesn't even smell like coffee.

Pretty sure Café du Mond has their own private labeled brand. Reily is the provider, so it is probably just CDM with a different name.
They do and I always thought CDM stood for Café du Mond.

I get a bag every now and then. I would drink it all the time buy my wife likes some of the others as well.

It might. But, the cans are a little different. Same stuff inside.

Have at times. Not my favorite but keep some on hand. My go to daily is French Market in the red bag.

this is the correct answer.
i love CDM coffee but not as a daily drink.
also, vietnamese coffee made without CDM is pointless.

Yes, I think chicory adds a lot to the coffee experience.
There may be an explanation other than marketing for the success of Starbucks after all.

Yes.
I love the bitterness.
There are few finer things in this world than warming chicory coffee in a skillet with half and half on a bitterly cold louisiana morning.
