At this point, it's pretty obvious to anyone who knows me. No, I'm not ashamed.

Oh. I always think of the wake as preceding the funeral, but I see that I am wrong.

Not true, I just like others more. Like Darla for instance.

Wait until they find out your love or food/beer and the need to share it with complete strangers online.

I snap pics everywhere of food. Care? Nope. Screw'em if they dont like it.

Lookin thru ur pics aint cool. Doin it at the life celebration after a funeral doesnt matter. Im sure your friend, whom passed, would have wanted you all to enjoy yourselves.

Most of my friends know Im a nut about food..... Those that dont, im sure my wife is telling them.

I don't think of the event after the funeral as the wake either, but who knows. Reception definitely doesn't sound appropriate.

This guy shouldn't have been surprised by my interest in food. We'd all been on a reunion committee together and I brought most of the food for every single meeting. The first thing we talked about when we chose a meeting date was, "What will Darla bring for us to eat?"

I guess seeing the evidence in pictures was still surprising.

They might wonder about the number of pics I have of Darla and other Little Rascals.

Don't feel bad for the food porn pics. My phone is littered with similar material.

Don't let the food challenged people win. Just tell them how to get to the nearest chain and be on your way.

I have a buddy who thinks my food interest is "Rediculous", "I'm a snob." This mother fricker wont eat whole cuisines, and he has the gall to call me picky. Sorry I won't drive past 15 good local spots to have a steak at Outback.

I have a mix of friends and some are similar to that, but not many. I think like-minded people tend to hang out more often and discuss their mutual interests, so since I enjoy food and don't see it as simply fuel I need in order to live I don't very often find myself being criticized for it as my friends and acquaintances share similar views.

My friends and family know about my food intrest and that I take pics of food. Most of them call me for food suggestions too. I will say that most of my friends and family also talk about food a good bit but not to the level of being a foodie. It's New Orleans people like food.

And thats a dick move to go through your pics.

These are FOOD pics! Almost all pictures of food! You ADORE food!"

I had a co-worker and his wife over for dinner years ago. We sat in the living room waiting for the cooking to finish. He reached over to the coffee table where I had two small picture albums.

Each was a small 3 ring binder holding about 50 pics...100 total.

After flipping through the pages he said:
"These are all pictures of dogs."

Me: "We refer to them as our children."

Oh, gosh, yes! If they know me at all, they know.

At or after the funeral is the time to share pictures and memories. There's everything right about that. Nothing wrong with it. I've never had anyone go through pics on my phone, though, without asking.

I've always called the "before funeral" part a wake or visitation. I've heard the "after burial" function called a repast, reception, gathering, continued celebration of life... I don't know what the proper name is, but when we do it, there's usually a lot of alcohol involved and sharing of great stories about the deceased. Untimely passings are not usually as celebratory, though.

I sort of hung my head in shame. I think if I'd had midget porn on my phone instead of food porn, it would have been less embarrassing.

Why were you embarrassed? Who gives a frick what some privacy invading douche bag cares about your interests?
