I just got a round table in the main dining room. I like that room anyway. I've got Dick and Jenny's for the next night but I'm still thinking. Staying at the Windsor and doing the Grill Room for brunch so I don't want to double up. A couple coming in from Belgium who aren't too adventurous so I'm dancing a bit. I'd venture over to Stella but I don't think it would be appreciated.

They'll probably put you upstairs (that's where I've sat when I've had a big group). I'm going to be honest, I just don't get the love for Clancy's. I understand that it's old school uptown NOLA and all that, but there are many many other restaurants in the area that blow this place out of the water.

What you got? We had a fine experience there last June.

Herbsaint would be good, but I would suggest Calcasieu, the upstairs place at Cochon. It's built for big events. I had a birthday party there once and had one of the best meals of my life. Link prepared an entire pig for the even. Epic!

Fair warning....that room is perfect for 10 but if men are wearing jackets...it gets hot in that room.

So?

Perfect. Second best day to my son being born was my 30th birthday. Had the entire place for 60 people.

Haven't been in a few years, but what about Le Foret?

Borgne
Emeril's
Redfish Grill
Bourbon House- ate there a few weeks ago for the first time. It was good at lunch.

It's not that it was bad, it just wasn't this amazing dining experience. I had the Lamb Chops Webster. Went probably within the month.

If I lived down there, maybe I would hit it up more. But as it stands, I would rather Coquette, Patois, or Lilette or something like that. I know these restaurants aren't all alike, but I prefer the others.

Sweaty pits are unattractive.

Well they aren't putting me upstairs because I specifically requested round table main dining room and made her write it down.

And all others listed are booked which has been my dilemma. Normally when I have a group I plan in advance. I can get in most places at 5 pm or 9-10 pm. I'm not a blue hair and I'm not eating at ten.

I'm good with what I've got. And last time I was at Lilette I didn't care for it. Just didn't go well.

Sitting in a hot room for hours eventually leads to the jacket coming off, revealing sweaty pits.

I didn't mind being upstairs. Just noted that they had a lot of the larger tables up there.

Cafe Giovanni? I love the food there and it's a bit different from what you have so far. Maybe the foreigners will enjoy it.

I'd eat at 10 with no problem. I like a long cocktail hour.

You really don't like Clancy's , do you, GG? Hell, you'll be sending him to the Lucky Dog on the corner of Bourbon and St Peter next.

He already has Clancy's. He's still looking for a place instead of Dick and Jenny's, I believe.
