Very parochial mentality though, not so different than the historical protectionists of New Orleans. Hard to break out of that comfort zone.

I agree. Might be their own worst enemy.

The refueling tanker loss was a giant kick in the groin. What made it even worse is that EADS/Mobile originally won the project but had it stolen due to national politics. Why bother even having a contest if you`re going to keep re bidding until the preferred company wins it? As for a restaurant, Felix`s is decent. Mikato Japanese Steakhouse is a good casual place too. I thought their was suppose to be a really good restaurant in the Battle House hotel.

The Royal Scam should be next to the hotel. It was good last May, small pub like atmosphere...

Cant go Wrong with The Royal Scam..the owner has two other restaraunts in town that are Sports bars wit the best bar Food in town. Noja is a good choice as well..Cafe 615 is not a bad choice Downtown...The Garage 2 for 1 happy hour until 9 with coldest beer in town is a must visit as well...

I am voting for The Royal Scam. Will report.

Good choice. If you change your mind, Cafe 615 and The Bull are also good choices. Both of those places are downtown on Dauphin St.
