I know not to do stove top but what about on non heated side of gas grill in large pot so oil won't get on flame?

Or just am I needing switch plans?

Why can't you deep fry on the stove top? What are you frying?

We used to do fish frys outside on a regular burner with one of these. Always good, no problems.

It shouldn't be an issue if you use a deep enough skillet.

As long as you get oil to required temp and hold it there, does the heat source matter?

Whats the difference between a gas grill open flame and my gas stove top open flame?

I wouldn't fry in my house because it will smell terrible but you definitely can.

I've fried in a cast iron pot on my stove numerous times. It's how I fry the chicken for gumbo. I usually have two pots going at once.

You could also run out and buy a cheap fry daddy or other deep fat fryer pretty quickly.

You can certainly fry safely inside....but if you have one of those silly toy microwave/vent combos, the entire inside of your house will smell like catfish and hush puppies.

One smells up the house.

I always fry outside.
