I have seen the debates. I have seen the merits of both sides of the arguements. I have formed opinions and then reconsidered. I wasn't quite sure where the answer layed, until now.

My girlfriend is of Mexican decent, born in Texas, from parents that were sons/daughters of Mexican immagrants. She gave her take on the debate.

Corn tortillias for lunch/supper. Flour tortillias are for breakfast.

My work is done here. Carry on.

ETA fixed for the spelling Nazi

I agree with her. But fresh and homemade is always the answer.

There can be no definitive answer, I don't believe. Some things require corn -- enchiladas, chips, tostadas. Yet, I would not want a breakfast taco on corn, nor a burrito. They each have their place.

Alma, my disaster of a dinner had wheat tortillas. Can your ´decent´girlfriend get a ruling on that one?

yeah, I know, gringo problems.

ETA Actually, she´d call me a ´Güero Gachupín´.

You also misspelled tortillas, arguments, descent, immigrants, and laid, although you misused laid anyway. In this case, the past tense of lie is lay.

I wasn't quite sure where the answer LAY, until now.

Perhaps you should give your spell checker another run...

Well, pardon me. I will not shite upon the English language like that again.

Go on with your life. Your work here is done.

I know most foodies would say corn, but it's flour only for me. Anything wrapped in a tortilla automatically tastes better. It's like putting things on sticks.

I eat corn tortillas more because they are delicious and healthier. I can't necessarily say that a good homemade flour tortilla doesn't give corn a run for its money in the taste department though.

To me, if I'm eating anything with a fork and knife, I'd prefer corn. But if I'm making fajitas or something handheld, flour is just easier. I prefer the taste of corn personally, but in those cases corn just falls apart all over the place and quickly becomes useless.
