Do you need 4 people or can you do it with just 2? Thinking about doing this for my wife's birthday next year. We could get another couple to come, but I think it would be fun to do by ourselves if possible.

Looks like a magnificent meal. I had the opportunity to do it back in 2001 and it was awesome then, too. Commander's is my absolute favorite restaurant and anyone who says it's 'overrated' has obviously never done the chef's table. That being said, I've never been particularly impressed by their dessert options.

Looks fantastic and there would be no way I could have eaten all of that food. The biggest I ever had was a 7 course and it was still almost too much. Thanks for the photos and descriptions. I am so jealous of the awesome dining options you all have.

I heard the hostess walk by and people were asking her what we were doing in the kitchen. She told them it was for 4 people. No more, no less.

I read this and immediately thought it was my husband. But, you are not.

I like more ribeye than 1.5 bites.

And rice with my cup of gumbo.

Will they allow for food restrictions for a guest? Did they ask you or just start slinging plates?

Not sure they serve peanut butter there.

You're really asking the wrong guy.

I'm sure it tasted good and all, but that's just not anything that makes me salivate at all.

I'd eat everything but that first one. that just looked gross.

Is there anything that is good enough for you? I mean really.

I was going the exact opposite on this. those pictures look way too pretentious for me.

Oh.

Well the first one, here is another view.

It is shrimp atop a 5-pepper jelly with pickled okra and onions.

If you don't like pickled stuff and pepper jelly, you cray!

Commander's is very traditional and looking back, nothing he posted is "weird". Don't see why you wouldn't think it looks good. Is it just because it is presented in a pretty way?

his pic just looked like a piece of okra with pickled onions

and I've been to Michelin places, I'm not intimidated. I just don't think this is pretty:

and I don't like the 3 bites of steak plate (although it and the frog leg plate are the best looking ones IMO) I need more steak

I clearly have different size interpretations than others when a photo is zoomed without a banana for scale because it seems like each of those three pieces are 2-3 bites.. making 6-9 bites. I could be wrong though.
