I want the timer because I want to wake up to the smell of coffee

My alarm clock goes off for a while in the morning, but the only thing that gets me out of bed is the faint beep from the coffee maker telling me it's got coffee waiting for me.

I have this one. It's cheap and nothing special, but it makes caffeine on a timer.

Cuisinart. I had a Bunn for years, but after its recent death, my boss loaned me a Cuisinart and I love it. My coffee is hotter longer and a pot is made faster.

one of those ugly bunn commercial rigs in my house, but i wish i had this one

I have a very similar looking Bunn. It is great. Had it for 3-4 years now. Takes me longer to mess with the filter and scoop the grounds than to start brewing because of the hot water in the machine. 5 minutes out of bed and the coffee is ready.

Get that $20 Black and Decker one from Wal Mart or Target. It works great and if it breaks after a few years, it's only $20.
