Burger King will offer two types of hot dogs: Classic and Chili Cheese. The Classic is a flame-grilled hot dog topped with ketchup, mustard, chopped onions and relish. The Chili Cheese Dog comes topped with warm chili and shredded cheddar cheese. All the dogs are 100 percent beef and served on baked buns.

The garnishes/accouterments are looking pretty light.

I think I'd trust the weinerschnitzel on Highland before eating a chili cheese dog from burger King.

Probably >50% of the population.

Not that I agree with it.. but I don't agree with a lot of things.

And that price point isn't going to generate a lot of trial.

Interesting you say this. Growing up in the South, this seems common to me and have never thought twice about it or heard anyone mention anything about it. Up north, especially at a Yankees game, they will look at you like you are sacrilegious

ETA: And I dare someone to try and put ketchup on a hot dog at Wrigley They will damn near kill you

I'm pretty sure Joey in that video review is only about 2 or 3 more grilled dogs away from running up a hospital bill.

Ya know how in advertising how they can make things look really inviting, even though you know you're not going to get what's in the pic? I gotta say that the OP pic looks like an absolute joke. Neither of those dogs look remotely tasty, and I can bet your first born that no one working minimum wage is going to decorate tube steaks with ketchup and mustard with patterns like that, and that's before they're mushed into a wrapper.

Has Joey ever panned a product? I skipped to his ratings, and the BK dogs got 9.5/10 for the regular and 8.5/10 for the chili cheese. He doesn't allow a lot of room for improvement, and he did reference der Wienerschnitzel and Sonic. AFAICT, his 10 point scale must go from 8-10 or something.

Tried the Chili Cheese dog last night. Very, very surprised with how it tasted. Really just got 1 just to try and was really surprised. Pretty good and would definitely get again.

Saw them earlier. Burger King puts out a good product. Its not Der Weinerschitzel, but it is flame broiled.

i grew up in alabama and everyone puts ketchup on their hot digs. I personally think ketchup is just gross as frick. it does't touch anything i eat except maybe a little bit on a burger.

even with fries, I put hot sauce on them rather than ketchup. something about it makes my stomach turn

Ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut, chili, onions, cheese, slaw, jalapenos, relish, etc.

I can't think of a way I would not love a hot dog.

Sadly, haven't had one in about 6 months.
