Family in and my wife and I are taking our parents to breakfast in the quarter this weekend. We are all born and raised in nola so don't want to really do the cafe du monde thing. Even though we have been here our whole lives we haven't really explored breakfast options in the quarter.

I have gotten a few good recs from friends
-Pierre antoines
Cafe beignet
Ruby slipper

Anyone have any other suggestions or can vouch for any of those?

I enjoy Clover Girl a lot.

I also like Le Richelieu

Open to anything. Quality of food is most important. Just want a good meal in the quarter.

And probably not yet, the drinks will come after while walking around the quarter and stoping wherever I see drinks. Haha

Have you been to any of the Mosquito Supper Club brunches? I'm thinking about the one this weekend.

I can vouch for the Ruby Slipper. Shrimp and Grits is one of my favorites.

I stay in the quarter at least a weekend a month. I try and visit one new restaurant during my stay either for breakfast or supper. Last weekend the new restaurant was the Rib Room for breakfast. Wife and I ordered off the menu before the brunch started. I had a filet omelet that was the best omelet I ever had. The bloody mary's was also the best we have had in the quarter. I found out they infuse the vodka.

Others I have enjoyed was Galvez. Been there 4 times and never had to wait. It is located next to the RR tracks along the river and it is a second floor restaurant. It has the absolute best view of the river. I could sit there for hours and watch the boats, ships go by. The food is 7/8 out of 10 but the view is 11 out of 10. We ate there in April with the window open. The cool river breeze made the meal. Pay one price for endless bloody marys and mimosas.

I have been to Eat on several occasions. Enjoyed the soft shell crabs for brunch, they are a special so they don't always have them. Always had to wait unless you get they right when they open. No alcohol served but they allow you to bring your own, so we make two 64oz. bloody mary to enjoy.

You need to get your fill in of Galvez, ASAP. The lease has been bought out, and they will be closing before the end of June. The new lease holders are converting it into a rental space (weddings, private parties, etc.). Never been a huge fan of their food, but the view at Galvez is phenomenal.

What's the difference IYO, between Clover Grill and Waffle House? Because I haven't seen much difference between the two. Locals love this place though.

I've been to the dinners, but not the brunch. I had a really enjoyable time and the food was very good. It's a very laid back atmosphere, assuming it's still in the Bywater.

It's one of the few truly "Farm to Table" dinner services you can find in NOLA.
