Want to get the crawfish to slide out of the shell easier. What works better for the listers. Cooking Oil, Butter, or both?

Over cooking is the issue...and butter makes everything better.

You could also put some andouille or smoked sausage in.....some of that fat will be way better than oil or butter

Cut the fire when it comes back to a boil and you don't have to worry about that shite

I sense a pattern, and consider the question justly answered.

There's nothing more infuriating than watching some idiot ruin a pot of crawfish by boiling the hell out of them.

Even that is to long. Bring your pot to a rolling boil, drop the crawfish and cut the fire as soon as you the crawfish are in. Soak for 45 min to an hour and your g2g.

I boil for 2 minutes then shut it down and then add a stick of butter and a small bottle of liquid zats.

To put a period on this.. I waited until the first boiling bubbles appeared, then added the corn. When I paddled the corn down into the water, there was an overflow that shut off the flame. Considering that the Hand Of God reinforcing the will of the FDB, I let it go. And ya'll were right! Good tender seafood that slid wonderfully out of the shell. Roll on, friends!
