It was really good for a while, and the drop in quality is something that (at least for personally) took a bit of time for me to notice. There's a good chance you were recommended the place before anyone noticed the changes

It sounds like they just have serious consistency issues tbh. I've eaten there maybe a handful of times and only had a bad meal once. 80% is a pretty good success rate for Baton Rouge in my book.

One of the most over-rated in Baton Rouge.

I got shite on this board for saying most of their food was out of a bag from Sysco. Well, looks like I'm still right. This board gives that place a lot of love. It is mediocre at best. I go because I live 2 blocks away and like to support local. The burger isnt half bad most of the time. Patio is a good place to get some drinks

Used to be a big fan. Have been going for the past decade. All I know is that the portions are very small for the price you pay. I rarely go anymore.

Most on here have said the food has gone downhill over the years.

And you weren't right in your original claim.

It's not in my rotation of places anymore. It's been meh the last two times

Tried it for the first time a few nights ago. Back of the stove chicken was pretty good. Salads were ok. Pot roast was mediocre.

We'll give it another shot, but nothing really stood out about their food.

The service at their Willow Grove location is a complete abomination.

Good food. Prices are very reasonable. Portions are the perfect size. Quality is high. The only issue is it can sometimes be a little loud and/or crowded, but that's nbd.

We didn't have a problem with the service. Maybe we got lucky

I went in hoping I'd feel this way afterwards, but I didn't. It was just a lot more "average" than I expected.

Like I said, I'll go back and try some other things. What do you normally order?

Thin cut fried catfish with fries is really good. The fish is super thin, just the way I like it.

Byronz used to be really good. The last few times I've been, it has not been so good. Now if I go, I stick to the sandwiches. The Shrimp Louie sandwich is really good. It is a cold mixed shrimp salad type sandwich. The Bistro Bomber and the ByRueben are also both good.

I used to be a fan of the pot roast, but I don't get it much anymore. I make pot roast at home enough as it is.

DO NOT get the shrimp and grits if you ever go back. Seriously. Little frozen shrimp.
My friend worked there for a while and she told me they switched over to pre-made for a lot of things they used to make in house.
She even said when they give you a choice of 7-grain or white bread, you may as well get white because t he 7-grain is just the white bread with dye. No idea if that is true, but funny.

I've been pretty disappointed the last two times I've been... once at Willow Grove and once on Government. Definitely won't be back on my choosing unless it's for happy hour.
