Wife got a 225 coupon for this place awhile back, and we are going eat there DT tonight. Thoughts on it?
I was told the shrimp and grits were good by one person.
Any thoughts appreciated.

It's good. Get the blue cheese chips and whatever else you want.

Solid food. blue cheese chips are great. My 2 year old could eat a pound of their pot roast and mashed potatoes.

Thanks!

Most of the menu is really good. I had the cassoulet last time I was there and loved it.

Whole menu is great. One of my favorite spots in BR. Really can't go wrong with anything. I've been enjoying their salads recently last few times I went.

NO. Hands down the worst thing I've ever had there. It's the little puny shrimp like you buy frozen at the store for easy meals.

Used to be one of my favorite spots. I think the atmosphere is nice and date-like, but the prices are low. They serve unique food that you don't see on every corner. I still like that place.
That being said, the food quality has gone down a good bit. The pot roast plate is a shell of its former self, though still good if the right person in the kitchen makes it. Friend that worked there told me there were quite a few things that aren't made in house anymore when they used to be.
You'll enjoy it if you aren't expecting to be blown away. As others said, the bleu cheese chips are awesome.

if this is what they serve at brunch, then no, its horrible if they haven't changed the recipe
tiny little frozen shrimp
ETA: I basically agree with everything LL just typed. It used to be one of our favorite places that we would go to weekly, but then we had 3 consecutive bad meals and kinda stopped going. The shrimp and grits was one of those bad meals.

food is decent and portions are small... the place on Perkins is one of the most uncomfortable places I have ever visited..... Chairs and tables are uncomfortable

It's a lot more comfortable than the echo chamber on Government.

The tables and chairs are terrible.... They tried to fashion the place after Galatoire's..

It's good even if it comes in a bag. LL doesn't know shite. Ignore her.

I said it was good depending on who makes it. Last time I got it, it was fine. The time before that, the gravy was very light tan instead of the normal dark brown.
The light tan time, it was an oddly small portion. And I eat very little as it is.
I was a huge advocate for Byronz on here before. Byronz and Chelsea's were my "favorite restaurant in BR" choices for the longest time. The last thing I am trying to do is bash a place I loved before it went down in quality..
