Big win for 504 Craft Beer reserve and other craft beer stores in LA

Coming from an email a bit ago. Patrick and Jason at 504 Reserve have been struggling with changing the view of their business model and de-regulating some archaic rules.
Per an email I got:
We have been talking about this for over a year now, but not anymore. After meeting with Commissioner Lombard today, an exception was created for our concept! We can now pour beers freely, allow customers to crack open bottles in the store, and set up tables, chairs, and stools for you guys to hang out. This also makes events and samplings easier which means more of them. The sky is the limit for us, and many great things lie ahead for you, our friends, at 504 Craft Beer Reserve.
Great news!

Yes!
The beer and liquor stores in Florida do this.
One small step for La.

Yep, that's the first thing that came to mind is just buying a glass a beer from the tap.

We've got that in MS. Nice to go to LDs or H&H and have a pint

Just in time for a new store y'all are gonna get on Magazine.
Craft Beer Cellar will be opening up within the year for y'all. The one in Houston pours draft and has a good bottle selection.

I think where some place called Bin 428(?) was. I have a friend of a friend that is involved in opening it up so I don't have a ton of info. Just some second hand chatter.
They have an Instagram though: @cbc_neworleans

That is good news. I tend to go to 504 once every couple of weeks. They seem like some good guys in there. It will be nice to be able to go with friends and actually enjoy a couple beers.

I went and checked this place out a few weeks ago and was hugely disappointed.
Every liquor store and some grocery stores have a deeper beer selection. I'd say at least half of the coolers were empty. They didn't have any of the local Louisiana breweries summer releases. It's in a terrible location. Guy behind the counter was so busy chatting it up with his friend that he never acknowledged myself or the other customer in the store and we both left without buying anything.
I can't imagine this place will survive.

They chat up everybody if you want to talk to them. Friendliest people in a store that I've come across. Its not any "deeper" or "better" than some of the better grocery stores, but I find that they have some different and better offerings from the usual suspects. They have the best stout selection in town IMHO.

Good for them, but I'm not going to Tulane for beer.

That's the spot that Chipotle is trying to move into so not sure that's it. It's just off the corner on Washington.

Idk. That's what I was told, but the lease hadn't been signed yet so who knows.
