BGE with Stand = $1000
Academy Knock Off = $500 (Kamado)

Looks like the same features.

Home Depot has another Kamado for $700

Kind of leaning toward the Kamado but IDK, maybe I should go with the Egg.

I'm going to check it out. They have that model at a Stine's near me.

How much was it?

All cars have 4 wheels and a gas tank but I bet you wouldn't buy an Edsel if you were in the market.

My pro tip of the day is don't buy a knockoff...

Stick with the big 3 and you will be good.

I have a BGE. Love it. Have no experience with the others, though.

I think mine was $799. I had it for 2 years, but I don't think they have gone up.

Spend the extra $200 and get one of the top brands. Warranty and accessory availability are key. The ceramic on the cheaper ones is about half the thickness as one of the top brands too..

Thanks guys.

The only two models I can find in Lafayette are the BGE and Kamado. The two units look very similar.

Stine's has a red Kamado for $800 and Mike Baker has the BGE for $1000. I'll probably go with the BGE so I can buy local and hopefully I will get a better product/support.

And I have an aversion to red if you know what I mean.

You can find the Primo at the pool store on Kaliste Saloom just south of Ambassador. I also think Percy Guidry sells them.
