It is as good as the others for the steaks. Just stinks to be eating in a casino and paying 15 to 20% more for the product just because of it being on the property.

I wouldn't go to Ruths, Morton's or Besh's.. Hit up a New Orleans original- Mr Johns or Crescent City

ah.....what?

One of my favorites is Dickie Brennan's, I've seen it bashed on this board before but meh.

Smith & Wollensky was awesome back in the day. I ate at the Chicago one and I have to say I didn't like it as much as the nola one.

Mr. John's is definitely good aswell. I've never been to charlie's.

ETA: I saw they opened a shula's in nola while I've been at LSU. HAven't gone, but I did go to the original in Miami, and I have to say, it was one of my favorite steaks of all time.

Mr. Johns. New York Strip, bone-in if available.

Also, never been, but heard very good things about Delmonico.

I know Ruth's is a New Orleans original but it is still a national chain and I knew someone would point that out. Plus it is in Metairie now, not that its a bad thing. Ruth's is always consistently good. Don't waste your time at Shula's. And I was curious about Dickie's.

Ruth's Chris-I just don't like a steak drowned in butter. Very overrated in my book.

I really like Dickie Brennan's. It has been excellent every time I have been. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. It is a nice place, but no overly formal.

For a long time, they had the best steak in the city by my standards. It was a prime dry aged NY strip. I don't think they have any other steaks on the menu though.

Went to Mr. Johns Thursday night, had the strip, perfect as always.

The week prior, I went to Dickie Brennans, also had the strip, there is no comparison between the two.

Mr. Johns is by far the most consistent steak house in the city.

Before the storm there was a great steakhouse downtown called Smith and Wollensky.

Gone now.

Best that's ever been.

Haha, hated that place. I sent a steak back 2 or 3 times because they could not cook it right. I ordered medium rare. How hard is that?

I had the bone-in ribeye there the night before the BCSCG. Damn fine steak. $45 for a la carte steak, but I didn't feel cheated.

I've been once and that was summer of 2010. The NY strip was the best steak I've ever eaten. My date & I did an entire meal (appetizers through dessert w/ drinks) and the final cost was right at $200, after tip. But I thought it was well worth the price.

Ive since moved to Austin, which is why I haven't been back to eat there since. But I constantly tell my current GF I am taking her to Delmonicos next time we are in Nola.

The Shula's here is terrible.

Besh Steakhouse costs the same, if not more than Ruth's or Mr. John's and isn't as good IMO.

Just go to Ruth's or Mr. John's, or Crescent City.
