I've done some research but looking to get opinions on people who have been and eaten at these places before.

Can't go wrong with Jean and Gorgetti's. It's an old school Chicago style steakhouse. I think it might be the oldest in town actually. I've never eaten here but Swift and Sons is supposed to be fantastic.

Pete Miller's was good when I went there. Of course that has been a looooooong time ago. Still, one of the better steakhouses I've been to.

I've only been to Gibsons, chophouse, and Ditkas. That's the order I would rank them.

We go to Gibson's every time we're in Chicago. It hasn't disappointed us yet.

Went to David Burke's Primehouse and had the 55 day dry aged ribeye a month ago. It was delicious but not $65 delicious. I would try one of the others suggested on this thread.

My wifes unvle lives on the north side of Chicago
We went to visit and that was one the things I wanted to do. Go to a "classic" Chicago steakhouse
Well he told me we could go to were the tourist go or we could go to Rosebud Steakhouse
The "Chicago cut" Bone in Ribeye at Rosebud Steakhouse is still the best steak I've had

Gene and Goergetti's is actually better for Italian in my opinion.

Gibson's is always really good and reasonably priced as far as steak houses. did not love david burke or morton's. have heard chicago cut is good, but haven't been.
chicago chop house is cool, but not at those prices. i'd say gibsons is your best bet

Pass on David burkes. I've never left a restaurant more disappointed.

Similar experience. It was rated as one of the top 2 or 3 steakhouses in Chicago and I was extremely underwhelmed. The service was at least outstanding
