2Johns
Jack Binion's at Horseshoe
Texas st tavern (pretty pricey for what you get, though)

Depending on how much you want to spend.

The Cub, however, it is by no means fancy or upscale. The restaurant is connected to a bar.

Superior has wonderful steaks and a cool atmosphere inside. Don't let the shopping center location steer you away.

This.
Some people might confuse Texas Ave Steak House and Texas Roadhouse.
Also, 2 Johns is very expensive.

I really like the Cub from a non-Port city residents perspective. But I like the fries and atmosphere more than the steaks. The steaks really aren't that great at all.

that seems to be the common sentiment. style over substance, so to speak. steak is better than the chains, but not the best in town. the potatoes are absolutely legit.

Yeah I would go back in a heartbeat, but more for the potatoes than the steak. And I basically had no expectations before I went, which is a good thing. People blow places up on this board, and when a poster goes expecting to get jerked off under the table during their meal by a playboy model and that inevitably doesn't occur, they come back on here and lash out about their water glass being half full for 30 seconds.

that's quite unfortunate. some folks need to learn how to temper their expectations.
