Best Smoked Sausage in the Lafayette Area

I'm cooking a pastalaya for a pre-game party for =UL game on Saturday. I usually go with Veron's smoked sausage that I get from their supermarket in Lutcher, but I need some recommendations for some of the best local options.

Just a thought but have you ever tried Steen's syrup sausage. Something new for a change - wasnt half bad.
But it raw, then smoke it and add to jam

Rod’s in Churchpoint.

I heard people say they like Nunu's, but I have never had it.

I really enjoy Kartchner's smoked green onion sausage. I use it in gumbo quite often when I have it on hand.

Nunu’s has really good fresh sausage (and different varieties) that is excellent for putting in the pit or in the smoker. Also the green onion one makes a really good sausage gravy.
However, OP wanting already smoked sausage to add into a pastalaya…above poster is correct that Rod’s in Church Point is top tier. The andouille at Kartchner’s is fantastic as well.

Rabideaux's or Best Stop

About 35-40 minutes away so don’t know if it’s considered in “Lafayette Area” but Teets in Ville Platte is too notch in any smoked meats

I'm with Chappy...Rabideaux's is probably my favorite. Especially in a jambo/pastalaya. If you want to screw one up though, do what ole boy said and use the syrup sausage in it. Lol.

if buying smoked sausage at a store such as Rouses, go with Rabideauxs - solid !
Johnsons Boucaniere (near downtown Laffy) sells their own smoked sausage, but close at 3pm - call ahead, or stop by and have some boudin and get your sausage
if you wanna take a 35-40 minute road trip, LeJuenes Sausage Kitchen (108 Tasso Rd., just before Eunice off Hwy 13)
stock up on tasso, andouille, smoked sausage, and ponce. These people do it right and it's an easy drive

Are you saying it is bad? That is not what I have heard.

Bourque's in Port Barre and Lafayette
ETA; as mentioned above Bourque's hot. Rabideaux's is very good too, can't go wrong with these recs.

Stopped at Kartchners in Laf on way home - lots of options for frozen smoked sausage

Is Teet's too far away?

I also love their smoked hocks!

I work with their daughter (no pics)… she brought us some to work recently and it was badass.
They stopped doing the ponce though.
