Anong's (Thai) - Laramie, Wyoming. Literally just driving through Laramie - have never been there before or since. The best Thai meal I've ever had.

This is an old small town restaurants of Louisiana thread that is now locked. It was a good thread though.

I mean Grayson's in Clarence, LA is absolutely awesome. Definitely small town and I believe that Highway 71 is now considered off the beaten path.

Oasis in Presidio, Texas. Maybe the best enchiladas I've ever had.

The Smokin' Oak in Red Wing, MN. Best smoked wings I've had still to this day. Smoked beef stroganoff was also money.

The Tioga Gas Station and Deli outside the east entrance to Yosemite. In the same area, 35+ years ago a pizza place south on the West Entrance, maybe in Oakhurst, that at the time had the best pizza I had ever had. After I married my wife, on a trip back to Yosemite I tried to find the restaurant, but alas it either closed or I was mistaken on it's location.

Can confirm. I eat there often and it’s legit. The Copper Door in Hayesville, NC and Enrico’s in Young Harris, GA aren’t far from there and they both would be considered premier dining destinations anywhere in south LA.

Pure Oil gas station in DeKalb, MS, on the square, across from the courthouse. Nirvana of fried chicken tenders and fried chicken livers.

I am sorry for those who will never be fortunate enough to eat lunch there. Come early because the livers are quickly gone.

Good Memories shown here.

Incredible JoJo logs, too. I like to finish my meal with a crisp PBR and a Honey Bun, if I have a desire for something sweet.

I didn’t really stumble upon it because it is pretty well known in central MS, but the Old Country Store in Lorman has a really good lunch. The fried chicken and blackberry cobbler are top shelf.

Love their chicken & sausage gumbo on a cold, wet day. Their smoked sausage is awesome.

Came here to post this. Ate there yesterday for the first time and it was outstanding. I had a chopped brisket sandwich on their homemade bun with potato salad and baked beans. Ate about 1/2 of my daughters’s pork sandwich and it was very good as well. FIL got the 3 meat platter of ribs, brisket and sausage and he enjoyed his as well.

Have had their “World Famous” hams before for the holidays and that’s some of the best smoked ham I’ve ever had. MIL bought one yesterday on the way out and I cut half of it up at their house and sliced it this morning. Gonna eat on it for a couple of days or so.
