My dad, his buddy and myself were in New Iberia for the 5A State baseball championship series to see my nephew pitch. After seeing Rummel beat Slidell, my dad wanted a good steak, which we stumbled upon a place called Charlie's.
They had a 14oz ribeye covered in crawfish etouffee, was one of the best steaks we've ever had. After 3 bottles of wine and dinner the bill was over $200. We tipped the server 60 and made her night. She told us she's never been tipped that well before..
I heard the place is no longer open.
How long ago was this?

There used to be a great restaurant in Livonia, but I forgot the name. It’s now closed, so the name of the restaurant is basically useless trivia.

The one on Hwy 165 or the one on Hwy 112? Both have fantastic authentic Mex food.

We found a little burger place near the camp in Dierks, Arkansas. Kenya’s makes a simple but really great burger. One of my top burgers along with Morvant’s in Youngsville/Broussard.

The fried pork chops will have you touching cotton by the time you leave the parking lot.

Villager’s cafe in Maurice, LA... Lafayette area people probably know about it, but they have some awesome poboys.
ETA: The Original Castalano's in Morgan City is another one. I’m sure Morgan city folks know about it, but it’s a great lunch spot if you’re in the area.
