We hit mahoneys more than id like because it's open on Sundays and close to the Zoo. If we can we'll hit parkway but it's often out of the way for most of our day trips.

I think you go to three different places to fill you cravings. That's the beauty of walking around the quarter. Actually you should go to two clubs for music. All depends where you start and where you want to end up. We stay on the side of the quarter we want to end at.

Tough to beat Guy's and Parkway.

I'll add Sammich to the list as it was currently unmentioned.

Best spot for a non-traditional poboy.

I can't believe this thread has remained relatively troll free.

I've never been to Lafayette (other than a road trip stop the Popeyes AYCE) but have a cousin from NOLA who goes to ULL and swears by this place

I always make a point to go there when I'm in Lafayette. It's 100% legitimate.

meh. Maybe i need to try something like the rabbit there. I haven't been that impressed on my two trips. It's been ok. I'd give Verti Marte the nod in this category.

The cold cut poboys at Old Tyme are good. The shrimp always taste like they're fried in burned grease.

What have you tried so far?

I've really enjoyed several of my choices.
Fried Lobster
Korean BBQ-Chicken
Oyster & Bacon

Not to mention the chicken liver app and killer beer selection.

I've been twice now and would consider it solid compared to New Orleans but I could probably name 10+ that are better here. I got the fried shrimp both times so I haven't tried the other ones.

To the OP, my votes would be:

Crabby Jacks, Guy's, Parkway, Cast Net in the east, R&O's, Arabi Food Store in the Parish, Johnny's Poboy in the French Quarter, Killer Poboys...I'll try to think of some more.

That's how I feel. It's one of the most legit poboys outside the metro area. It would fall somewhere below the Parkways and Guys, but above Sammich.
